Our bodies were designed to heal themselves. When your body is traumatized though surgery, Reiki treatments can sooth the shock to your system and optimizes your body's innate ability to heal itself. One of the greatest Reiki healing benefits is its stress reduction and relaxation, which ties to the body's own natural healing ability. Our bodies were made with the ability to heal themselves naturally. Stress, worry, and emotional upset are held in the mental and emotional bodies, which block your energy source causing aches, pains, and disease to manifest in the physical body. Reiki or "energy work" can clear these blockages and allow life's energy force to freely flow, enhancing your own body's natural healing powers. Reiki treatments are ideal before, during, and after surgery. Administering Reiki prior to surgery can help one prepare their mind and body for the procedure. Reiki, helping to reduce stress and tension, places the body in its optimal state for its own natural healing. A Reiki treatment during the surgery will help to reduce stress levels on the body and support the body's ability to undergo the procedure. This can be done in a distance Reiki session. I've performed many distance Reiki sessions where I sit in a quiet place and perform the treatment as if the person is right in front of me. I'm still amazed every time someone reports back the results of those sessions. Click here to read more on those. Anyone who's had any type of surgery can tell you that the pain you may wake up with can be pretty intense. Reiki treatments after the surgery can help the pain subside immediately and help create the perfect balance in your body conducive to quicker healing. One Reiki medicine article suggests that when you practice on someone hooked up to monitors after the surgery, the benefits of Reiki are often measurable. You may see improved heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. This is huge, especially when you're talking about preventing post-surgical complications. A neighbor of mine went through an adult removal of tonsils surgery. One of her comments was, "It was warm and soothing over my throat/neck area. The strangest thing was that after the treatment, I felt relaxed and pain-free instantly." My Reiki experience was shortly after I had my thyroid removed, which brought me awful side effects. Reiki helped me personally after my surgery. I feel blessed to have had a healer. She has touched my life in more ways than one. Do you have an experience of surgery with Reiki that you'd like to share? I'd love to hear about it. Live, Laugh, & Love

It sure is nice to know that using Reiki treatments after surgery helps in making the pain subside immediately and makes it possible for the body to heal quicker. In my opinion, this is also possible with distance healing, as some clients mentioned that they are able to heal quicker after surgery because someone is providing this service to them. Thanks for this information about the possible effects of Reiki treatments before, during, and after surgery.

I had no idea that Reiki can help support people's bodies as they undergo surgery by reducing stress levels. I hope that more people learn about this because I can only imagine that surgery is a very stressful experience. If I ever have to get surgery done I would like to be as calm as possible so I'll look for someone who can help me with a Reikie treatment.
