The Power of Amethyst

The purple Amethyst is legendary for it's grand ability to stimulate, soothe, and inspire! It's sometimes called the “All Healer” stone as you can use Amethyst for physical healing of the nervous, circulatory, digestive, endocrine, immune & respiratory systems. Emotional healing, curing of nightmares & insomnia, spiritual healing, and also to heal, harmonize, and stimulate the Crown and Third Eye Chakra, are even more reasons why people migrate to this particular powerhouse of a crystal. Throughout history, Amethyst is known for protection of intoxication, overindulgence, and being a stone of royalty. Whether these crystals are left natural or polished as tumbled stones, therapeutic uses of Amethyst are well documented throughout history, and their shear beauty is breathtaking!

Amethyst can be used as a natural form of stress relief as it attracts positive energy and rids the body of negative emotions that cause one to be stressed, anxious, full of fear, and depressed, by bringing you back to center. It can be used also as an energetic shield of violet light surrounding your body in protecting you of all negative influences. Amethyst can also help one to identify causes of imbalance and disease. This is a great crystal for use when your not quite sure what your in need of.

Along with Clear Quartz, Amethyst is also sometimes called the 'Soul Stone' and is simply one of the strongest and most powerful crystals to use in your meditation practice. It's this crystal that instills a calm meditative state bringing clear thought and a deeper understanding of the powers of the universe. My favorite way to meditate with an Amethyst is to sit in a quiet place holding the crystal in my hand, deep breathing for a few minutes. And then with my minds eye, I internally place it in my heart center, visualize this violet powerhouse there, and wait just a short few seconds before I can literally 'feel' the calming effect of this crystal within my body. I then imagine the stones violet rays, filled with these peaceful and calm feelings, oscillate throughout my entire body. At a certain point my body is completely filled with these violet rays, and they begin to extend out through my crown and physically wrap my entire body in this protective bubble of what feels like love energy to me. Try this for yourself sometime and sit with these feelings of well-being for as long as feels good to you. It's a magical treat for yourself!

Crown Chakra Healing

Amethyst is my absolute favorite stone!  Not only is it my favorite color, it's simply stunning. But more than that even, sitting with and feeling the vibration of this crystal is pretty amazing.  Truly, the power of Amethyst is something everyone should experience.  The crystal below is in my personal collection of Amethysts and I've sat with it in meditation many times.  This Amethyst is a find from a healing trip to the mystical Sedona, AZ.  It's from Uruguay and truly a spectacular sight!
