![]() For years, many people used crystals in jewelry for the shear beauty of them. Crystal Healing is considered by many a pseudo scientific alternative medicine technique that employs stones and crystals for healing but is an ancient practice that dates back to at least 6,000 years. The Romans used crystals as talismans to promote good health and provide for protection in battle. Roman and Greek doctors mixed crystals with plant extracts, heated them, and used medicinally. Ancient Egyptians believed these stones had the power to restore health, and would also bury their dead with a quartz crystal, which they believed would guide their loved one safely to the afterlife. Chinese used them to promote healing, enlightenment, and attraction of desires. Today, healers, Shamans, and priests use crystals for their specific healing properties. I always had a fascination with stones and crystals but that was as far as it ever went, until I was introduced to crystals and their healing ability at a Mind, Body, & Spirit Festival. Because crystals vibrate with the energy of the earth, they can help you align your body with the Earth's energy. With these crystals, now you too, may vibrate at the highest energy – Earth Energy! This is where the healing begins. Using crystals, and tuning yourself into their energy, you are then clearing blockages within you which will enhance your own natural healing powers. Most don't realize, but our bodies were designed to be self correcting and naturally heal themselves. But as life happens, we sometimes forget to stop and take care of ourselves so often, that our bodies get out of sync with that healing process, ultimately creating blockages in our physical and mental bodies. Any blockages within your life force is what causes aches, pains, and even disease to manifest in the physical body. It's for this reason, I now use crystals every day for strength in a particular area in my life, for healing that's needed that day, for personal meditation and clarity, or for use in my Reiki practice to induce love and light while cleaning and clearing Chakras. Reiki, as just one alternative healing modality, in its simplest translation is Universal Life Force. It is the practice of channeling the universal life energy in a particular pattern to heal and harmonize the mental and physical body and each of our Chakras, which receives, assimilates, and transmits physical, emotional, and spiritual energy flowing through our bodies. There is a clearing technique I use, as well as a different specific crystal for each Chakra to clear any and all blockages in that area. This clears the way for life force energy to flow to you and through you to keep the mind, body, and spirit in it's divine state of perfect health. If we keep our mind, body, and spirit vibrating on a high frequency of love and healing energy, we don't allow aches, pains, and disease to manifest and settle in the physical body. This is just a brief overview on Chakra healing with crystals but you can click here for more details on Chakras. Each crystal has its own unique healing property and a specific Chakra it resonates with due to its color. Our first Chakra, being the Root Chakra, deals with grounding, and mainly vibrates with and can be healed using Red, Brown, or Black Crystals such as Red Garnet, Hematite & Black Tourmaline. Our second Chakra, the Sacral Chakra, dealing with the abdomen and pleasure centers, can mainly be harmonized with Orange Crystals, such Carnelian, Amber, and Orange Calcite. The Third Chakra, being the Solar Plexus Chakra, dealing with the Digestive System and personal power, resonate with and can be healed with Yellow Crystals like Yellow Citrine, and Sunstone. The Fourth Chakra, the Heart Chakra, deals with the Heart, Lungs, and Love. The Heart Chakra vibrates in a healing manner with all Green or Pink crystals such as Rose Quartz, Jade, or Green Aventurine. The fifth Chakra, the Throat Chakra, deals with communicating, and resonates with Blue Crystals such as Blue Agate, Sodalite, or Sapphire. The sixth Chakra, the Third Eye Chakra, dealing with intuition and knowing, vibrates on a healing level with Indigo or Violet Crystals such as Amethyst, Lolite, & Fluorite. The seventh Chakra, the Crown Chakra, dealing with the Central Nervous System & the Divine, resonates best with White or Purple Crystals such as Selenite, Clear Quartz, or Amethyst. ![]() I've personally been using Crystals for my own healing for quite a bit, but since beginning the use of crystals for healing, I've had a few phenomenal success stories, some of which are near and dear to my heart. The first success story is my husband who had rotator cuff surgery. This, from what I'm told by many people, is the most painful surgery you can have. This is definitely an issue with a long healing time as he's only gained about three quarters of his motion back in that area without pain so far in the last 5 months. Initially, I would Reiki him while we were sitting and relaxing and the end of each day. Then I brought a Carnelian ball into the picture and what he explained to me while using the healing ball was pretty amazing. The Carnelian ball brought him amazing heat, almost like a hot stone everywhere it touched him helping to relax and heal the muscles that had been severed and manipulated during surgery, soothing the pain just like a hot stone massage. Click here for his personal recap on the Carnelian Ball and what it felt like. The second success story is also near and dear to me as it has to do with my sister. My sister Deneen has Lupus, which is essentially an inflammatory disease where your body's immune system attacks its own tissue and organs. From what I hear and see her going through, it is a very painful disease and doctors just throw different medications at it as a trial and error thing until they find a drug that works. Well, she's still in a stage of her disease of not knowing what medication works in helping the pain which she endures every day. I've done Reiki healing on her numerous times in the past which has eased the pain just enough to take the edge off, but it wasn't until I started Crystal Healing Therapy, that she's had sustained relief from the pain. I used various different Crystals to Cleanse and Clear her Chakra's, but I also asked her to wear a Reiki Charged Hematite bracelet for a few hours a day. It's been a few weeks and she's reported not having had a really bad pain day since. Click here to read about her personal experience with Chakra Cleansing and Crystal Healing Therapy. ![]() My third success story in just a few short weeks has to do with someone that has degenerative disc disease which is pain in the lower back or neck due to a compromised disc in the spine. While there is a slightly genetic cause to this disease, it's mainly caused by normal wear and tear or some sort of trauma to the body. With this type of disease, there is normally a constant, usually a slight baseline pain. It also involves mild to severe episodes of back or neck pain that generally could last anywhere from a few days to a few months and can be debilitating during that time, before returning the person back to what they consider their norm in the pain department. Rachael had been suffering for many many years with degenerative disc disease when she came to me. I helped her with the healing energy of Reiki and a Carnelian ball, which I used to treat lower back problems. After those two things, I used Hematite on her which, for her, was like the Belle of the Ball. As soon as the Hematite stones made contact with the skin on her lower back, she reported a dissolving of the pain almost immediately and stayed for as long as the Hematite stayed on her back. I then instructed her to continue this practice on her own while she was not with me and to cleanse the Hematite with a Selenite stone so that all of the negativity and toxins the Hematite absorbed from her, would be cleared before returning them to her lower back again. ![]() So despite the documented healing crystal use of many of our ancestors, some still discredit the use of these stones along with other forms of alternative medicine. There are not many studies to prove or even disprove the power of alternative forms of medicines such as crystal healing, acupuncture, Reiki, or even yoga as healing for the mind, body & spirit. This does not mean that these healing practices aren't effective. It just means that money isn't being spent on what some consider to be “New Age” healing; that same healing therapy that is actually healing as old as time. Also, despite the lack of research for these types of healing methods, still about one third of Americans use these or other forms of alternative medicine. This is not to say that Crystal Healing Therapy is a cure all. You should still seek the help and medical attention from your doctors, but as you can see from these three very different issues and diseases from the above cases, Crystal Healing Stones truly do serve to amplify any and all efforts of healing; whether you have emotional wounds, specific physical illness, or simply need to increase your energy levels, you can use crystals to vibrate with the same frequencies of earths energy and re-activate your body's very own healing capabilities!

![]() First I have to say, I am a metaphysical girl. What do I mean by that? I am a spiritual being; I belief in Angels, Energy Healing, the Power of Crystals, then Energy of the Earth, and a Higher Power. One of the loves of my life, my 25 year old son, is an engineer. He's a science guy. While I love him with all of me and love to debate with him often about the differences in our beliefs, it makes me really check into things that I believe in so that I can have an intelligent sparring match about certain topics with him. One of those topics of our disputes was the Himalayan Salt Lamp. The benefits stated below are in fact found, but on such a small scale, that I could not find documented scientific evidence. This is what just one Himalayan salt lamp company touts: Emits negative ions that fight against electromagnetic radiation and fights fatigue and sluggishness; It also increases the flow of oxygen to the brain, protects against airborne germs, increases work productivity and creativity, improves bone strength, soothes allergies; Sleep better & wake refreshed. First, Electromagnetic Radiation is emitted from your TV, computer, cell phones and all electronics that seem to be attached to our hips and in some cases used in our daily lives more than 10 hours out of our day. These daily emission of electromagnetic radiation contributes to lowering the melatonin levels within our bodies. Lets look at why melatonin is so important to us. Melatonin plays an important role in the sleep cycle, sometimes called “The Dracula” of hormones as it only comes out at night. Lower levels of melatonin affect your immune system, your mental health, and is the regulator of sex hormone production. This is huge. Melatonin deficiencies have shown in patients with cancer, heart disease, ulcers, and even Alzheimer's. I personally had a low level of Melatonin when I lost my thyroid and my sleep was disrupted regularly. Aside from the issues of not having a thyroid, not being in the right mind as well due to lack of sleep and proper necessary hormone levels throughout the body was truly awful. When the heat from the salt lamp warms the crystal, a negative electrical charge is emitted, ionizing our atmosphere, which in fact helps to neutralized harmful EMF radiation. Just imagine though, this small Himalayan Salt Lamp and the huge amounts of electronics that we surround ourselves with daily. Negative Ionization is truly a benefit here, but, unless you are a person who is off the grid, so to speak, the electromagnetic radiation of all of these electronics, far outweigh any negative ions the salt lamp can produce. You can certainly do better for yourself here and put a salt lamp in every room you spend a considerable amount of time in, including your office, which might be significantly favorable in the hormone department of your body. Secondly, negative ions are proven to increase the oxygen in our brain and other organs, as well as boosting the serotonin levels which results in higher mental energy and alertness, and makes us feel happy. It's for this reason that most people feel more refreshed and happy while at the beach....Running water is considered the world's greatest source of negative ions. While with this lamp, we're talking about just a small amount of negative ions in your home or work space. But doesn't that account for something? In my world and belief system, every little bit of good you do for yourself is growth to all of you; physically, mentally, and spiritually. And every little bit of kindness you give to yourself, is negating (even if just a minute amount), the toxicity that surrounds us on a daily basis. Thirdly, the salt lamps are also said to be Hydroscopic which means it attracts water vapor from the air to it. In attracting the water vapor, along with that vapor, it's also attracting things trapped inside the water molecules like mold, bacteria, allergens, and other contaminants improving our air quality by trapping it to them into the salt crystal. Talk to the person who has severe allergies, or severe asthma and see how they feel about improved air quality. To them, even the tiniest amount of improvement can be expressed as monumental in their ability to breath and feel well because they are getting more oxygen to their brain than usual during allergy season. Personally speaking on allergies and someone who is allergic to dust; I work in an office building that is not always properly cleaned or air purified as maybe I would do to my own home, and this is life altering daily, not just allergy season. Salt lamps may even help with SAD – seasonal affective disorder. Due to the soft orange hues and soothing colors reminiscent of a sunshine effect, they tend to be calming and increase can even increase clarity and focus of daily chores or work that sometimes gets to be overwhelming during this time. Some people suffering from SAD have been starting to put these lights on timers to relax the mind during a time of less sunlight. Again, it may not be a cure all but any bit of relief is better than no relief, and this is all natural. So this is my own personal hypothesis. Just as being on a beach with the salt air, helps many people feel and breath better, so too, does the salt lamp. While they may not may an enormous difference in negative ions, a benefit is a benefit and better than none at all. Salt lamps definitely don't hold a candle to an air purification system, but much like the relief attained by breathing in the salt air at the seashore, it can be an additional healing asset in your life. Truly, the way I see it is, you absolutely could be a “glass half empty” kind of person, and don't want to hear about any of these so-called “tiny” perks because you consider them to be too insignificant to care about. That is definitely your right, but in my opinion, any slight improvement to your health, mind, & body, is worth it, because YOU are worth it!! Lastly, with the aesthetics alone, you have can add a salt lamp to any room to serve merely as a beautiful accent piece. I'd love to hear what experience you may have with a salt lamp. Immediately, when I got mine, I noticed a difference in my breathing as well as my energy level, which I'll be honest, truly did surprise me. I just love mine!! ![]() Chakra comes from the Sanskrit word for wheel, or energy center, and is commonly translated as a point of physical or spiritual energy in the human body. ![]() Spring is my absolute favorite time of the year. The colors are amazing and the new life coming up feels like magic to me. I try to keep grounded throughout the year, for my own sense of well being, but I find it very difficult staying focused on what my body needs, instead of what the kids need, what the house needs, and whatever else usually floats through your mind at any given time. In living and completing life's daily chores, we sometimes forget what's most important and neglect taking care of ourselves. Most people see gardening as a chore, but for me, it's a great way for me to get back to myself and give me what my body needs. When you are standing in your garden, you are surrounding yourself in the energy of mother earth. Being in my garden, to me, means getting truly grounded with the earth. There is such a feeling a calm and serenity washing over me while I'm gardening that my mind and body are much clearer and everything is just right. And in the fall I like the clean-up process for my garden. I take great pride in how my garden looks every year and I feel that the process of gardening in the fall is just as important as watering your flowers in the dead of summer. This is a time to clean things up, trim things back and clear what's necessary for the following spring. It's this time period of cleaning that is imperative for the type of new growth the following season. If you don't take the time to do this, you may not have healthy plants the following year. This is good for your garden, but it's also good for your soul. This is a process of cleaning and clearing for me, mind and body. When all is finished, you can stand back and be proud when looking at what you've accomplished. Check it out... next time you are gardening, whether digging in the dirt, trimming or just pulling weeds, take a mental note on how your body physically feels. Do you feel energized? Do you still feel your body's natural daily aches and pains? Next, get inside your mind and make a mental note there. Are you feeling a little more clarity in your mind? Think about it. While being with nature and getting grounded, you may truly be amazed at the power of the earths energy that you never knew about before. Let me know what you find! Live, laugh, and love, always! Be well! ![]() Heal your soul with your own personal space We live in a fast paced world and the daily stresses in life can sometimes create blockages in our minds and bodies that wreak havoc on our mental and physical well being. It's nice to be able to get yourself to a quiet calming place and get back to healing yourself. Meditation is what you can do when you feel like you need a little time out from the world or to get grounded and calm, and Zen Meditation is a great source of healing if your interested. If you're not a person that meditates, you'd be amazed at how rejuvenating it is to sit in a nice quiet, calm space. This alone can change your whole outlook on your day. Most people don't take the time for themselves to do this. Truly you can create a whole new you just by creating time and a space for yourself. Creating a space for you doesn't have to be an expensive venture. You can even pick a corner of a room and do some things to create a tranquil space for yourself. The first order of business is to clear out your junk. Did you ever find yourself in a much calmer place when you've cleaned out your messy closet that was long overdue? This is no different. You may notice that changing the physical space will revitalize all areas in your life, just by getting rid of clutter. Simple, right? Next, create a cool color scheme, like blues and greens, to trigger a relaxation response. You don't need to paint the entire space. You can keep the space neutral and add these colors as accents with pillows, decor art, plants, and candles. Candles are a great way to get an aromatherapy area. Lavenders, chamomiles, and lemon are very serene and relaxing scents. The most challenging thing about all of this is to take the time for you that we all deserve. Even if for just ten minutes a day you sit quietly in your own calming space, you will begin to heal yourself from the craziness of the day. We sometimes forget what's most important in this world and we take things for granted every day. Create a space where you can take the time to remember the importance of your mind, body, and spirit health. Everything else will follow once you take care of you and you'll forever be grateful you did. If you want to take this to the next level, and really take care of your mind, body, and spirit, I can help. Read what others have had to say about their own personal experiences with Reiki, and how their lives have been changed. Live, love, & laugh often for better health! ~Nicole |
