Positive Affirmations
We are coming into a time of awakening in the world with lots of talk about envisioning and positive affirmations. Being a firm believer in the power of "The Secret", I believe that we attract whatever it is that we focus on in our lives. Keep this in mind and think about it... especially when wonderful things happen and you are truly happy. Do you ever notice the snowball effect of really great happenings or experiences? The same goes with the opposite. When you fall out of tune with positive energy, less than wonderful circumstances arise. Positive affirmations are a wonderful tool in this world to help you get to the visions and dreams, but you must understand that you always need to look within and see what needs healing first. It is imperative that you honor the parts of your life that need healing. Without the step of embracing any pain in your life and healing it, you're essentially masking it with positive thoughts that won't have the strength to overcome what's necessary to support you. Imagine this... Imagine that the outside of your home is old and dingy looking with paint chipping away from it at every angle. You go out and by brand new paint in a beautiful color hand chosen by your desire for your house to revive and renew its beauty. Think about step 1: Chipping all of the excess paint and sanding it down to a smooth base so that the paint will go on smoothly and evenly with a new shine and beauty. If you skip this first step, you will still have an old looking house with new looking paint chipping off at every angle. You get the point! You can't just cover up the pain of any issues you may have to be healed and released with a new coat of paint. These issues will keep popping up on you. You really need to see them for what they are, sit with them, accept them, and let them go. Feel these feelings that go along with them, because it's these issues that make you who you are. Really think about these words. Now sit quietly for a moment and breathe into your heart. What feelings for you are popping up here into your heart that need healing. Truly feel these feelings to the fullest, be grateful that they are their, as they are a reminder of the lessons you need to learn. Feel the anger, sadness, or whatever it is that is with you in this moment. Feel it, resonate with it, appreciate it, and let it go. Now you can breathe into your heart a layer of positive affirmations that will truly stick. Just try it, and you will be amazed with what comes next in your life. Don't forget: Live, Love, & Laugh often!

![]() Distant Reiki Sessions Most people don't know this but Reiki doesn't have to be performed in person to be beneficial. It can be performed distantly with the same benefits as if in person. I've done many sessions through distance. Basically, I do the same thing I would if the client were in front of me. I begin, sitting in a quiet place, doing self clearing and while light protection of myself, just as if the client were in front of me. This means that I take a few minutes taking deep clearing breaths and envision a white light around me. The white light surrounding me serves as protection against any of the clients negative energy coming through to my body. I then perform Reiki in the same manner as if they were in front of me, visualizing the person in front of me. I just did a distant session with Dan C of Wisconsin and this is what he had to say about his distant session: Oh wow. Well. I can say that it worked. I actually started feeling... I don't know how else to describe... I saw it... love like energy... with my aural vision (though it's not vivid... I can feel-see it.) I was sitting on the back porch, and it kind of came on strong... (where one's eyes blur, and then see, and then feel good energy). Bones vibrate a bit so minute. Fibers start singing in my body. It prompted me to go lay down. Laying down now. What I would say to you that I experienced quite quickly (though time was lost on me), as best I can... first and foremost... is that it has been a long, long time since I have been able to feel the Earth moving. It's a very relaxing, wonderful feeling. I went even further than I have before in noticing that we are on this Earth floating in space and energy, connected... I didn't get much further than the earth floating. Wow. I saw blue. I felt my body translucent. I felt you had a methodology, but could not exactly point where it was. Comforting-like. I felt tingling. I felt a good "closing" of certain energy out-pour from me that need not be there. I felt this "spirit" wind blow that energy to my left and away (the fan I had on was blowing to my right... so I know it was something with energy.) Towards the end (unlike in person) the tension in my throat went away. I felt like something was pulling at it... I know some things about Reiki... but not nearly enough to decipher each meaning and barely know all the Chakras and their powers. So, I am awake now... and I feel relaxed. I do say, though... I need a lot of work... that is one thing clear to me. I can't thank you enough for this. You definitely have a loving energy... I feel it is powerful. I know that from what living energy you sent when we first spoke; it really did help dissipate some of my "stop light" anxiety! Thank you so much, Nicole. This is just one person's view on a distant session. Everyone's sessions are different with different experiences. You can read more experiences of people having had Reiki for different situations here. I Invite you to see what you think personally. If you have issues that you need help with, or chronic pain and nothing seems to help, call me 484-390-0525 or follow me to set an appointment and see if Reiki is the one thing that can help you. In the meantime... Live, laugh, & love often! ![]() Everyone's mind and physical body needs something different, so no two Reiki sessions are the same for any two people. It's for this reason that it's hard to say what Reiki feels like. I know that some people feel the warmth of the energy throughout their body, while others feel the tingling vibration of the energy. Some people go into a meditative sleep state, while others feel absolutely nothing but relaxed. I can't tell you what you will feel, but I will tell you the story of my first Reiki session. My first session with Rebecca, whom I consider to be my healer, was during a time of need for emotional healing. I had recently lost my cousin, who was like a sister to me, to breast cancer. In the end stages of her illness, she had migrated to alternative medicine for healing while doing chemo, which helped sooth her pain during that time. She did eventually lose her battle and was only 40 years old at the time. This was devastating to the whole family. This alternative medicine intrigued me and so I read as much information I could about it. I felt like it may be time to face some of my past demons and do some internal healing. I intuitively found Rebecca through the internet and was drawn to see her. She was located an hour away from me, but I just felt that she was the person I needed to see. She is what's called a spiritual healer, doing many variations of healing, from Massage, to Hellerwork, to Reiki. I quickly set an appointment to see her and had no idea what to expect. Rebecca started her session with me and immediately, when she put her hands on me, I felt comforted and loved with each move of her hands. The session lasted an hour and still, to this day, the main thing I remember about this session is having the feeling of white light all throughout my body. This feeling overwhelmed me so much that tears would just roll down my face and I could feel the release of whatever it was that she worked on that day, because at that point, I had no idea what was happening. All I knew is that at that moment, filling my body, was so much love that I had never felt all at one time. I heard her invoke the angels for help but had no idea what she was doing, but I thought whatever it was, was truly magical. I remember thinking about my husband and how he needed to see her too and feel what I'm feeling right now. About a month later, he went to see her for his own amazing experience. That is an incredible story for another day! I saw Rebecca for quite some time after that to help me get over the issues of my childhood that haunted me. This was just such an amazing experience for me, that soon I went on seeing Rebecca for the physical healing I was in need of due to my thyroid removal, and the havoc it wreaked on my body. To this day, I consider Rebecca my miracle! Each session I had with her was such a wonderful experience and I feel that everyone should be so blessed to experience this. Every single time I saw her, it felt as is somehow more of the wall of armor I'd created around myself just shattered at my feet. I began to feel lighter and filled with a loving light that I could never quite explain. In all the times I'd see her, we would talk briefly about pains of the past I was looking to release or physical pains in the here and now due to thyroid removal and physical dysfunction in my body. Rebecca was always able to hone in on what I was feeling and magically remove the pain and fill that space with love, light, and wholeness. I and always left her with some different piece of information that would help me to keep physically well or to feel grounded and mentally well. It wasn't until about two years after initially seeing Rebecca, my light worker, that I starting looking into Reiki and learned more about the breathtaking healing that Rebecca was able to invoke. Shortly after, I became a Reiki practitioner so that I could help people heal in the beautiful way that Rebecca helped me. I'd love to hear your experiences with healing. We need to all share the astonishing ways that energy can heal us with the world to make it a better place! Live, love, and laugh often as we were intended to do! Raw Emotion Since I was a little girl, I remember my life being about pain; witnessing the physical abuse of my mother from my alcoholic father and the mental abuse coming from my abused mother at her children. As a child it's just so hard to witness all of this and learn that it's not right, first and foremost. The hardest part may very well be the anger and feeling that the only two people in the world you feel you can trust, would seemingly put a child, THEIR child, through this kind of pain. This is gut wrenching emotional pain that stays with you until you can figure it out and learn how to let it go and forgive. So then eventually you learn how to forgive, and move on but the scars left behind within that child never disappear. Something every day can bring that emotional baggage back to the surface and it haunts you like it was yesterday. Many years later, and having had enough love and good in my world to realize the other side, and what life should be, I am lead to constant healing in my world today. Every day of my life, with it's ups and downs, have been one big process of healing the wounds of the child I once was. Having been that child, I struggle every day with the darkness I've lived and can touch the pain and sadness like it was yesterday. The child I once was has since learned that I can love and be loved unconditionally in my now world. I no longer need the love and acceptance of the parents who didn't even love themselves enough to be able to show that to another. The periods of growth and healing in my life began when I was 17 with writing as my outlet and the pain as my muse. The outcome... healing! To this day I continue the healing process with my writing. My writing started out as poems to just release these raw emotions that I didn't know what to do with. The release of the emotions help me in a way so that the sadness and pain is just not as open and raw as it was when I was a child. We all have a story in this world, and as I've said, aside from Reiki healing, writing is my healing process. Every now and again, I'll be posting my poems and some writings that have helped me. Maybe they can help you or someone you know. Or, please, if you have somethings that helps you in your life, please share it. Not only do I continuously help heal myself, but I love to be able to help others as well. If you are in need of some healing and haven't tried writing, sit with a pad, pencil, an open mind, and see what you come up with. Some of my best healing and most creative stuff has come out this way. See below one of my first poems that started my writing and pain releasing process in 1990. Throughout the years, my writings have gotten me to a much healthier place...a place of healing and love. And as always, live, love, and laugh often! Open your Eyes Keep your eyes open and never look away, you never know what might try to hurt you some day. Keep your eyes open without a second thought, Never trust, is what I was always taught. Keep your eyes open and look to your goals, so you don't fall into any given holes. Keep your eyes open no matter what tries to stop you, and the goals you can't reach, will be very few. Keep your eyes open and never bat an eye, before someone tries to take what's yours without even a sigh. Keep your eyes open and never look down, always be ready to stand your ground. Keep your eyes open and don't ever be naive, or someday, a great loss you will grieve. Keep your eyes open and always look ahead, you'll never get anything accomplished by staying in bed. Keep your eyes open no matter what has got you down, don't give anything the satisfaction of an unpleasant frown. Keep your eyes open but try not to be cold, because bitterness is a very sad thing for someone to hold. Nicole Lawler 5/1990
![]() So many people use traditional medicine to treat disease and infections, and so few do things to prevent rather than treat illness of any kind. I've said before that I found Reiki during a time when I wasn't well and needed healing that traditional medicine couldn't provide. Since that time, I've researched different forms of healing and illness prevention, and what I've found is that yoga is an exercise that has many positive effects on one's body and spirit. It's a known fact that any type of exercise helps your brain release endorphin's, which resemble opiates in their abilities to produce a feeling of complete well-being. You don't need to be highly active and in shape to perform yoga poses and the primary benefit of yoga is improving the muscular and motor system of the body. Frequently practicing yoga will help you burn fat and stay in shape. Did you know that you can help your skin look better, and have better circulation doing yoga? Because there are many upside-down poses in yoga, it's also a method to improve your circulatory system. Blood circulates easier into our lungs, heart, and brain, when we are upside-down. These three organs also happen to be responsible for the well-being of our entire body. So these upside-down poses in yoga will help your circulation as well as circulating more oxygen to your face, to rejuvenate your skin. Sidebar: Because my hair is very fine and has no texture for fullness I've been blow-drying my hair upside-down since I was young... who knew I was helping my skin appear younger? Also, yoga is both isotonic and isometric contraction. It's isotonic contraction when we move into each posture and isometric contraction when we hold our bodies in a particular pose. Isotonic exercises are the most used in exercise. What people don't realize is that isometric exercises can be useful in any program to reverse age-related muscle loss. This will help us do things that as we get older are not as easy as they used to be such as bending over to pick up a pencil, or getting out of a chair gracefully. Yoga can also be useful in preventing osteoporosis. In fact, anyone with back or spine problems will benefit from yoga. Most of the Asana poses in yoga are about stretching your vertebra which gives new vitality to your entire skeletal system. You may even find that doing yoga will increase your flexibility which will put your body at its optimum potential. If you've never done yoga before, check it out, and see if any of these things resonate with you. I know I personally love to do yoga, and for me it's an activity for my mind and body. When you do the poses, you're doing a good thing for your physical body, but also concentrating on your breath and holding the pose, which brings you into a quasi-meditation type state for a brief time. At the end of yoga, there is also a period of calming and clearing through meditation. If you have an experience with yoga, I'd love to hear about it! |
