Reiki, the art and science of channeling this universal life energy in a particular pattern to heal and harmonize the mental and physical body can assist in balancing trauma and the benefits of receiving Reiki energy before, during, or after undergoing surgery is the same. The healing energy of Reiki will always heal them heal faster, than without it. Our bodies were designed to heal themselves, but when your body is traumatized though surgery or in any way, it's harder for your body to bounce into auto pilot of self correcting mode to heal itself. Its through Reiki energy that one can sooth the shock to your system and optimizes your body’s innate ability to heal itself.
Reiki treatments are ideal before, during, and after surgery, as administering Reiki prior to surgery can help one prepare their mind as well as the body for the procedure. It will assist in reducing stress and tension, and places the body in its optimal state for healing. It is then that you will be in the best possible position mentally and physically to be able to get back to your original state of health.
A Reiki treatment during the surgery will help to reduce stress levels on the body and support the body’s ability to undergo the procedure. This can be done in a distance Reiki session. I’ve performed many distance sessions where I sit in a quiet place and perform the treatment as if the person is right in front of me. I’m still amazed every time someone reports back the results of those sessions. Click here to read what some people have experienced distantly through Reiki treatments.
Anyone who’s had any type of surgery can tell you that the pain you may wake up with can be pretty intense. Reiki treatments after the surgery can help the pain subside immediately and help create the perfect balance in your body conducive to quicker healing. One Reiki medicine article suggests that when you practice on someone hooked up to monitors after the surgery, the benefits of Reiki are often measurable. You may see improved heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. This is huge, especially when you’re talking about preventing post-surgical complications.
A neighbor of mine went through an adult removal of tonsils surgery. One of her comments was, “It was warm and soothing over my throat/neck area. The strangest thing was that
after the treatment, I felt relaxed and pain-free instantly.” Click here to read everything she had to say about her experience. My Reiki experience was shortly after I had my thyroid removed, which brought me awful side effects. Click here to read about how Reiki helped me personally after my surgery.
Do you have an experience of surgery with Reiki that you’d like to share? I’d love to hear about it. Also, don't forget to love yourself enough to take care of yourself! I can't say this enough, simply because the way I grew up showed me to take care of me last, and I know there are people out there just like me. I'm learning slowly but surely how important it is to practice self-love. My husband constantly reminds me of the saying that "You cannot pour from an empty cup!". It's taken me a long time to get this through my head and I still struggle some days. But please, take care of you! You are special enough to deserve that gift of self-love every day, not just days when your body is going to undergo a trauma.
I'm happy to help you get on the path of healing and self-love!
Live, Laugh, & Love, as tomorrow is not promised!
